CALGARY - CFCN-4 (CTV CALGARY) AT 1651 MILES

The transmission tower of CFCN-4 Calgary is 1651 miles from my antenna. That makes CFCN my second most-distant TV log via E-skip. (At 1659 miles, San Francisco/Oakland analog TV channels 2, 4, and 5 are the most-distant stations via E-skip.) My CFCN reception was via E-skip on May 20, 2010, during CFCN's 6 PM local newscast.

In order to confirm whether my reception was actally CFCN, I sent photographs to Mr. Dale Coutts, Director of Engineering for CFCN. Many thanks to Mr. Coutts for the following reply.

Hello Danny.

Our graphics folks have confirmed that IMG 1463 is our skyline, so you
would have been receiving the CFCN TV Calgary signal. It appears our
signal travelled about 1650 miles!

Best of luck in your future DX.

Regards,
Dale Coutts
